Fitness Australia Executive Management Team
Members of the Executive Management Team of Fitness Australia are the key points of contact for advocacy work. All three members of the team, Lauretta Stace, Robert Barnes and Craig Knox, are highly experienced association executives with a broad range of skills and experience in stakeholder consultation, industry representation, issues management and government lobbying.

Lauretta has over 17 years experience at a senior management level in health-related businesses in both the corporate and not-for-profit sectors. For the past 9 years she has been working in the professional membership-based association sector where she has gained considerable experience in a range of key strategic and operational areas. Lauretta was appointed to the role of Chief Executive Officer of Fitness Australia in April 2006. Lauretta has a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in a health-related discipline and post graduate qualifications in business and human resource management. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors in Australia. |

Robert is a highly experienced association executive who has held a range of senior executive roles in the not-for-profit sector in Australia and New Zealand in both the community service and sport and recreation sectors. Robert is a Fellow of the Institute of Sport Management. Having started as a sports development officer in the Northern Territory his expertise in business development, marketing and communications provided the opportunity to quickly rise to chief executive level. It is at this level he has worked for the last six years. Robert holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications majoring in journalism and public relations and an MBA in human resource management. |

Craig Knox | General Manager - Industry Development |

Craig has extensive experience as an exercise professional including managerial positions in community and private sector facilities and professional practice at community and elite level programs. He also has extensive business experience, having established successful consultancy and publishing enterprises. His most recent experience includes community based physical activity promotion and industry association management. Craig has tertiary qualifications in Applied Science (Human Movement) and a Masters of Applied Science in Exercise Psychology. Craig was appointed to his current role with Fitness Australia in July 2008 after spending 12 months as the State Manager of Fitness Victoria.
