Fitness Activity Permit System for Adelaide City Council

Adelaide City Council (ACC) has established a new permit system - The Fitness Activity Permit System. This will enable personal trainers/fitness instructors to conduct their business activities within the Adelaide City Park Lands and Squares.

ACC plays a key role in providing recreational opportunities and supporting activity within the Park Lands and City Squares that encourages physical activity among the Community.

The purpose of this permit system for personal trainers, fitness instructors and fitness groups to use the Park Lands and City Squares is to meet the increasing demand for commercial fitness use of public open space. ACC has decided to support this activity because of the significant benefits to the local Community. This permit system also ensures that trainers have the appropriate permissions and qualifications, and enables the council to manage and maintain the use of the Park Lands and City Squares.

Fitness Australia has worked with Adelaide City Council on this initiative and fully supports and endorses the implementation of this Fitness Activity permit system.

The system will commence from 1 July, 2012 but applications can be lodged now.

Further information can be obtained from ACC's website. An evaluation process will commence in October 2012 in which your feedback will be sought.
